A Book With Soul - Hemanta Mishra
A thoroughly engaging look at rhinos - historical, hysterically humourous, humane, geographically aware and politically fearless. Hemant Mishra emerges as a rare individual, mature in his endearing narratives, clear-eyed in insights, and, most pertinently, as a raconteur of worth in my eyes. Legends, as well as odds and ends of exciting true-life events make this slim book a marvellous companion for any Nepal bound traveller and a must-read for any Nepali, or anyone else on the sub-continent. A forthright look at many of the ills that assail the best efforts of conservationists the world over. Unsparingly frank, one can see that it has invited some degree of prim reservations from certain quarters. However, there is no malice anywhere in the lively portraits of animals and humans and nature itself.
