Gopalpur-on-Sea happened to be the surprise stopover for the first day in my Golden Quadrilateral motorcycle trip. Despite its huge popularity among local tourists Gopalpur still holds the intoxicating flavor of rural Odisha. The Bay of Bengal appears somewhat greenish from the Gopalpur beach, unlike most other beaches of Odisha.
