RANGANATHASWAMY TEMPLE
Ranganathaswamy temple is located in Srirangapatna, in the Mandya district, is dedicated to Hindu god Lord Vishnu. Although Srirangapatna is 15Km away from the Mysore, it belongs to Mandy district. The entire town is surrounded by the river Kaveri which forms a river island. The town derives its name from the Ranganathaswamy temple. The main deity here Lord Ranganatha, who is the manifestation of Lord Vishnu. The idol of the Lord Ranganatha is a resting posture on a bed of a serpent Adhi Shesha.
