March 2018 Reflections - Sanch Writes
I promised I wasn’t going to make a statement about how quickly time is flying so I won’t. Welcome to April, lovely readers! It’s a brand new month and we turned back the clocks an hour yesterday. For a while, it means I can wake up in the mornings and go to the gym when there’s some light as opposed to the darkness in the past month. But I’m also mindful it’ll get dark earlier in the evenings and not to forget, colder as well. For now, though, it’s time for me to look back at March and all that it had to offer. What I wrote in March 2018 I continued to work on editing and rewriting my work-in-progress. I have about 14,000 words in the second draft {after 40,000 in the first} and it has been slow-going as I haven’t been as disciplined as I’d like. I’m hoping to change that in April. I mentioned in the round-up for February about submitting a short story to the Newcastle Short Story Competition. I was delighted to find out in March that mine was one of thirty-two stories shortlisted to be published in their anthology which will be out this month. …
